The purpose of this work was to investigate the adherence to basic hygiene routines among staff and to investigate if there is any difference between the adherences in diverse professions. The purpose was also to study how staff rates their own adherence to current guidelines. Data for the study were collected through observations and questionnaires. Altogether 35 people were observed and 15 answered the questionnaire. Maximum adherence was found in the category of "hand disinfection after patient contact" with a score of 96%.

Cross infection is a global health problem. The cost for cross infection increases every year. Florence Nightingale focused her attention on preventing cross infections by using good hygiene and as a nurse that is one of your more important tasks. Nurses have guidelines for how hygiene should be implemented in practice. The aim of this study is to investigate factors that influence nurses´ compliance to guidelines regarding hygiene.

Syfte: Att beskriva faktorer som påverkar adherence hos ungdomar med diabetes mellitus typ 1. Metod: En litteraturstudie med systematisk sökning och beskrivande design.

ABSTRACTIn an intermediate section at a large university hospital are patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) cared for. There are international, national and local guidelines how nutrition therapy should be implemented and how much energy each patient should be given when hospitalized. The purpose of this study was to examine the documentation and actions on nutrition in patients with SAH and to see if guidelines on nutrition were followed. The study was a quantitative, retrospective record review that was analyzed statistically and descriptive. 26 patients were included.

Bristande adherence (följsamhet) till ordinerade läkemedel, såsom immundämpande läkemedel, som är tillräckligt stor för att ge negativ effekt på behandlingsresultatet är ett problem som kan delas in i fyra huvudområden: taking, timing, dosing och skipping. Trots nästan perfekt adherence efter njurtransplantation (Ntx) kan avvikelse i timing ge allvarliga konsekvenser. Studier visar att drygt 30 procent av vuxna Ntx patienter brister i sin adherence. Det medför stora kostnader för samhället men framförallt riskeras rejektion av det transplanterade organet och risk för försämrad funktion, transplantatförlust eller i värsta fall patientens död.Syfte: Att undersöka bristande adherence till immundämpande läkemedel hos vuxna Ntx-patienter och undersöka om sjuksköterskan kan förbättra patientens adherence med omvårdnadsåtgärder.Metod: Litteraturöversikt. 18 vetenskapliga artiklar har analyserats i resultatet och delats upp efter två frågeställningar.Resultat: Missuppfattningen att patienter har hela ansvaret för att ta sina mediciner speglar oftast en okunskap och bristande förståelse för hur andra faktorer påverkar adherence.

Background: Insufficient physical activity is a public health problem. The Swedish recommendation is to be physically active for a minimum of 30 minutes every day, which is fulfilled by about half the adult population. Recent research has shown that sedentary behavior is an independent risk factor. Physical activity on prescription (FaR®) is an individually adapted and written prescription, a method to encourage physical activity. The National Board of Health and Welfare has observed that counseling combined with a written prescription convey better adherence than just counseling.

Fysisk inaktivitet är ett växande problem i världen och är en starkt bidragande orsak till många av de välfärdssjukdomar som allt fler människor drabbas av. Fysisk aktivitet på recept (FaR) växer allt mer fram som en behandlingsform många hoppas på ska kunna förbättra hälsan eller i bästa fall förebygga sjukdomar. Syfte: Syftet är att undersöka huruvida studier som gjorts kring FaR och andra varianter på fysisk aktivitet på recept kunnat påvisa någon ökad adherence hos patienter som mottagit ett skrivet recept på aktivitet i stället för standardiserad vård om fysisk aktivitet. Metod: 13 artiklar ingick i en litteraturöversikt.

BACKGROUND: The isolation facility is an important ward in veterinary hospitals. This is where infectious patients are treated in order to reduce the risk for cross-contamination between the infectious patients and other patients and humans in the hospital. But it can only function in a safe manner as long as adequate precautions for infection control are adhered to. This has shown to be a problem in many isolation facilities in veterinary hospitals in Sweden. AIM: The aim of this paper was to examine which factors that can affect the quality of the infection control in the isolation facility. The aim is also to stress the importance of adequate infection control practices. METHOD: Two interviews were conducted with staff from two veterinary hospitals.

Background: Coronary heart disease kills more than 7 million people worldwide each year. High levels of blood fat, cholesterol, contributes significantly to coronary heart disease. Lifestyle changes combined with lipid-lowering drugs, statins, is an effective treatment. But adherence to statins is low, not even a myocardial infarction always contributes to adherence. Adherence requires patient education and good communication between patient and physician.

The purpose of this study was to look into the work of care organizers for elderly care, in three municipalities in southern Sweden, and how they use the law and local guidelines to evaluate the need for home care. The intention was to determine if presence of relatives makes a difference in the needs assessment and if the care organizers practice harmonize with the guidelines. To do this, we did a qualitative study alongside with analyzing each of the local guidelines. By interviewing five care organizers, we were able to see their side of elderly care and how they combine the law and local guidelines in their daily work with elderly care. Our main themes are, in short, the law and local guidelines, the view of care organizing and needs and also closeness to relatives.

Syftet med föreliggande studie var att redogöra för hälso- och sjukvårdspersonalens följsamhet till hygienföreskrifter avseende handhygien och de faktorer som påverkar detta. Metod: Artiklar söktes via CINAHL, Pubmed och Scopus. Sökord som användes i olika kombinationer var: hand hygiene, adherence, hygiene guidelines, health care workers, compliance, hand disinfection, infection control, nursing, nurse och hand cleansing. Tretton vetenskapliga artiklar erhölls. Vidare gjordes en manuell sökning ifrån inkluderade artiklars referenslistor och genererade två artiklar som ingick i resultatet.

As part of an Agile developing team I have in my role as interaction designer also tried to evaluate the ?iPhone Human Interface Guidelines?. With action research I have taken actions to change the workflow and to see what there can be done to make the guidelines more motivating to use. Action 1 tried to make the iPhone components more available and it suceeded, action 2 tried to make the guideline more available in whole and did not work as it was designed to do. The guidelines did not work as a source of inspiriation and I and my fellow designer distanciated us from it.

Background Nightingale attention that hygiene was an important task to prevent health- related infection. Today there are guidelines how hand hygiene should be followed, to prevent health- related infection. Good knowledge and education in hand hygiene and its consequences if it?s not followed is of great importance. Hand hygiene should be performed before and after the clean and the unclean work with patients and materials.
